Adjuvants & Wetters
|
An adjuvant may be any compound that when added to a liquid spray, chemical application, formulation or tank mix will either facilitate the mixing, application, or effectiveness of that product or application in some prescribed manner. Adjuvants may be chemically or biologically active compounds, and may typically be used to improve the effectiveness of the products they are added to, either increasing the desired impact and/or decreasing the total amount of formulation needed to achieve that impact.

SPREADER STICKERS
|
GENERATION is an exciting blend of next generation Super Surfactants based on Organo-Modified Siloxane technology. This technological advance allows Generation to perform far beyond the capabilities of conventional surfactants and spreader stickers. This new chemistry is highly effective wetting out hydrophobic surfaces and has enhanced ability to lower surface tension and contact angles of spray droplets.
|
| Power Pack Herbicides |
Plant stomata are the microscopic pores in the leaf surface through which water, oxygen and C02 gain entry. With the addition of GENERATION, droplet size and contact angles become ideal for rapid foliar absorption by the plant stomata, and are quickly translocated for more effective weed control.
|
| Super Charged Wetting Agent |
Generation’s efficacy in herbicide enhancement can be utilized for non-chemical wetting applications. Stomatal wetting ensures more even and effective wetting out of dry spots, allows for faster and deeper penetration into soil structure, and promotes larger, deeper and healthier root systems.
|
| Compatibility |
GENERATION may be used with most wettable powders, emulsion concentrates, or soluble formulations of most herbicides/pesticides
|
| Application |
With Herbicides, Fungicides and Insecticides:
Add GENERATION to the spray tank at the rate of 4 to 6 ounces per 100 gallons of spray solution.
|
BUFFERING AGENTS
|
| Indicate 5 is a water conditioner designed to adjust pH in water so that maximum efficacy of foliar sprays can be realized. Indicate 5 will acidify all alkaline waters as well as help to neutralize the dissolved salts present in hard waters. Mixing Indicate 5 into your spray solution requires no lab tests, litmus paper, or guesswork. Indicate 5 turns the solution pink when the optimum pH has been achieved. |
- Acidifies
- Automatically indicates pH
- Buffers
- Wets, spreads, and penetrates
- Aids compatibility and reduces volatility
|
| Acidifying Action |
Indicate 5 is added to the spray solution after foliar fertilizers and before pesticides are added. Most pesticides work best in acidic conditions. Indicate 5 reduces the pH in your spray water, overcoming the tendency of dissolved salts to resist pH change.
|
| Built-in pH Indicator |
Indicate 5 is the only water conditioner/adjuvant with a patented built-in pH indicator. Indicate 5 eliminates the need for pH testing equipment in the laboratory or in the field - all you need to do is to check the color of your spray solution. If you cannot see into your spray tank, you can easily determine how much Indicate 5 you need by mixing a small amount of solution in a calibrated bottle and then adding Indicate 5 to your spray tank in the same proportion.

WATER CONDITIONERS
|
Hard water contains high levels of calcium, magnesium, and iron ions that bond to many pesticides, post applied herbicides, insecticides and fungicides rendering them ineffective.
Insure cures that problem by tieing up those hard water ions first, before chemicals are added to the spray tank. Additionally, Insure has a beneficial effect on reducing spray water pH.
|
| When certain chemical spray solutions are exposed to pH above 7.5, they can undergo a condition known as alkaline hydrolysis and break down to products that are either less effective or totally ineffective. |
- Prevents hard water ions from damaging pesticides
- Protects against alkaline hydrolysis
- Reduces pH to slightly acid levels
- Speeds pesticide activity with faster absorption
- Prevents tank mix antagonism

An extended control soil wetter based on Brandt’s multi-phase technology. Quadra-Tek is a 100 percent active blend of unique soil wetters each with a distinctive wetting and release pattern. Formulated from only the highest grade surface active agents, and based on both linear alcohol and siloxane technologies, QUADRA-TEK is designed to control Localized Dry Spot (LDS) by providing complete and uniform wetting of the soil.
|
| When used as directed, QUADRA-TEK provides thorough wetting and spreading both laterally and vertically over 3 different time phases: immediate, 2-3 weeks, and 6-8 weeks. QUADRA-TEK outperforms conventional wetting agents by addressing the unique characteristics of hydrophobic soils. QUADRA-TEK goes beyond aiding water flow through limited vertical pores, caused by water repellent soil particles. While other wetting agents simply allow more water to penetrate through the available pores, showing some temporary relief of symptoms, QUADRA-TEK infiltrates the entire soil profile, using its unique molecular penetration effect, allowing the product to move both vertically and horizontally. As the product moves through the soil, the remaining components both wet and coat the soil particles ensuring the most complete soil wetting available. |
- Non-ionic, non-toxic
- Reduces surface evaporation and runoff
- Complete, uniform soil wetting
- Infiltrates both vertically and horizontally
- Non-hydrophobic, non-phytotoxic
|
| DIRECTIONS FOR USE |
Spray Control (Soil Wetting and LDS Control)
3 week control/Apply 3-4 oz. per 1000 sq. ft.
6 week control/Apply 6-8 oz. per 1000 sq. ft.
For best results apply in 2 gallons water per 1000 sq. ft. and irrigate lightly after application with at least one rotation of the sprinkler heads. If unable to do so immediately, irrigate before next mowing.
When using higher rate, irrigate for 5 minutes after application for best results. Pre-wetting turf can also aid in the mobility of the product.
Soil composition and agronomic conditions such as extreme heat, low humidity, and prolonged windy conditions can affect the length of control and therefore timing between applications. Under severe conditions, more frequent applications at the lower rates are recommended, at 2-3 week intervals, until the turf, soil and agronomic conditions improve. If first application is for curative control of severe LDS, use 6-8 oz. rate, followed by the 3-4 oz. rate, 3 weeks later.
|
| Preventative |
To help prevent LDS and hydrophobic conditions, it is recommended to use 4 oz. per 1000 square feet once per month from Autumn to Spring.
|
| Maintenance: |
For problematic soils, it is recommended to use 1.5 -2 oz. per 1000 square feet per week.
|
| Top Dress Applications |
| After completing top dressing, spray 2 oz. diluted in 1-2 gallons of water per 1000 square feet over the area top dressed. Water lightly to insure even water movement. |
Sil-Tek is a concentrated proprietary blend of high and medium solubility, non-ionic surface active agents blended with Siloxane, the revolutionary silicone surfactant. Sil-Tek is highly active, non-toxic, non-hydrophobic, and virtually no phytotoxic potential. Sil-Tek may be used in TURF, HORTICULTURE, LANDSCAPE, and AGRICULTURAL applications.
|
| Soil Wetter |
Allows for uniform water infiltration throughout the soil profile. Eliminates water repellency (hydrophobicity) in the soil and quickly relieves plant stress due to the inability of water to infiltrate the root zone. Sil-Tek improves soil hydration capabilities, eliminates localized dry spots and turf stress on hills, slopes, and bunker faces. Sil-Tek also helps to move heavy rains off the playing surface, and improves the overall turf quality. Reduces surface evaporation and run off by thoroughly wetting soils through.
|
| Soil Penetrant- |
Improves the ability of rainfall, irrigation or spray to easily penetrate the soil surface though thatch layers and into the root zone. Sil-Tek evenly distributes applied chemical products throughout the soil. Applied through the irrigation system, Sil-Tek infiltrates the water molecules for easy surface penetration and even distribution. Sil-Tek reduces the necessary amount of water applied per cycle and improves plant health, drainage, and aeration.
|
| Moisture Management |
Sil-Tek helps plants to maintain adequate moisture due to the unique formulation of both high and medium solubility components. Sil-Tek allows excessive moisture to flow through the soil, while maintaining sufficient moisture at the plant roots. Sil-Tek provides proper wetting and drainage conditions in soil-less media, and eliminates water repellency in potting mixes utilizing bark and peat.
|
Sil-Tek can be applied by boom sprayer, hand sprayer, hose end applicator, fertigation, or injector.
|
| DRIFT CONTROL AGENTS |
Drift Free™ |
Drift Free is an effective, easy-to-use drift control agent for deposition improvement and spray drift retardation in spray operations. Drift Free is compatible with most water soluble and wettable powder pesticides, dessicants and cotton defoliants when applied by aerial application or standard ground equipment. Drift Free, when used as directed and in accordance with sound agricultural practices is in compliant with Federal Food and Drug Administration Regulations governing the cropland use of adjuvants and is exempt from tolerance requirements under Title 40, Code of Federal Regulations 180.1 101 (d).
|
| The degree of drift hazard varies with the type of pesticide, application conditions, and vegetation near the sprayed area. Common sense and sound application technology must be followed when spraying pesticides. Drift Free will retard, but not totally eliminate drift. |
